Wick & Flame was born from Lizette’s passion for candle-making and her determination to create something better than what she found on the shelves. After purchasing several candles from local stores and gift shops, she was disappointed by what she experienced — weak or unpleasant fragrances, poor performance, tunneling, soot, bumpy tops and low-quality ingredients. From that frustration came inspiration: to design luxury vegan artisanal scented candles that not only smelled incredible, but also performed flawlessly.

From the very beginning, Lizette set out to craft luxury vegan scented candles with rare, unique and exquisite fragrances, using natural and premium ingredients. Her goal was to offer candles that fill a room with captivating fragrance, burn cleanly and evenly, and provide a long-lasting, luxurious experience.

At Wick & Flame, each candle is meticulously hand crafted in small batches with only the finest ingredients: a luxurious designer coconut–apricot wax blend, allergy-friendly “clean scent” oils and cotton or crackling wood wicks, with carefully chosen minimalistic vessels to deliver a cleaner, longer-lasting burn. Our eco-friendly candles are non-toxic, sustainable, and designed to elevate your home with exquisite fragrance - without compromising air quality or the environment.

What began in early 2025 as a small creative venture has quickly grown into a celebration of craftsmanship, elegance, and sensory delight. Originally from Pretoria, South Africa, Lizette’s journey has carried her across continents — from Australia, where she lived since 2008, to her current home in Maryland, USA, where life’s adventures continue thanks to a military posting. Her story is one of creativity, resilience, and dedication, woven into every candle she pours.

  • Lighting/Snuffing: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle safely. Blowing it out can cause hot wax to splatter and may lead to burns/mess. When lighting your candle, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar before snuffing.

  • Trim the wick to ¼' before each burn to promote a steady flame, even melt pool and to extend the overall life of your candle. Discontinue use when only ¼ ' wax remains.
